As a vocal teacher, Natalie strives to empower each student. By guiding them to explore and understand their voices, she hopes that they will be able to express themselves wholeheartedly through song. She believes that singing can be taught; singing is a science, that when combined with technique and musicality, encourages flexibility and strength as a performer. As a working singer and actor herself, Natalie understands the balance that has to be struck between combining emotional and musical instincts with a solid technical foundation, and ensures that her students reach that same balance.
Natalie is incredibly passionate about singing and the voice, and has been actively teaching since 2016. Specialising in Musical Theatre and Pop, her learning started while she was at the Royal Academy of Music under Mary Hammond. She has also studied with Anne-Marie Speed and Naomi Myers in The Estill Model (Levels 1 & 2), and has recently obtained a Pass in her Estill Figures in Proficiency. She is currently training under Naomi Myers to become an Estill Master Teacher.
She was a singing lecturer for the Musical Theatre (BA) Programme at Lasalle College of the Arts, and continues to teach in several music studios across Singapore. She has also conducted voice workshops for The Improv Company & Yale-NUS, and is an assistant drama coach for Speech and Drama CCA at Singapore Chinese Girls' School.
Natalie has a private vocal studio where she teaches professional performers, young singers as well as children. Engaging and thoughtful, she aims to provide quality vocal teaching to bring out each student's full potential. If you have any enquiries about lessons, please get in touch!
